Greetings! My name is Mohamed Dhanrajie, a proud farmer from the lush Coast Demerara region, specifically at 63 Ocean Garden, Met En, in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My heart lies in the fertile lands of Guyana, where I cultivate a variety of crops that reflect our rich agricultural heritage. The vibrant communities here remind me daily of our shared stories, from the sweet aroma of cook-up rice simmering at a family gathering to the laughter shared over a plate of pepperpot during holiday celebrations.
As a Guyanese, I deeply appreciate the unique blend of cultures that shape our nation, from the influence of our Indigenous peoples to the resilience brought by the diverse diaspora. I often reminisce about our historical landmarks, like the majestic St. George's Cathedral and the enchanting Kaieteur Falls, which symbolize the beauty and spirit of our homeland. Whether it’s discussing CARICOM’s roots in our beautiful Guyana or sharing a laugh about the Coca-Cola-colored lakes created by cypress trees, I cherish every moment that connects me to my country.
Though I spend much of my time tending to the land, I stay engaged with the global Guyanese community.
