Hello! I’m Mohamed Kayum, a proud Guyanese currently living in Bank Essequibo, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a dedicated labourer, I work hard to support my family while cherishing the vibrant culture of my homeland. From the sweetness of ripe mangoes to the savory flavor of a well-cooked pepperpot, the essence of our traditional dishes keeps me connected to my roots, no matter where I am.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the beauty of our rivers, like the Pomeroon and the stunning landscapes that define our country. Whether it's the lively atmosphere of festivals or the peaceful serenity found on the banks of the river, these experiences shape who I am. I often reminisce about the days spent with friends at Red Hill or exploring the lush greenery of the Upper Karawab, memories that are priceless.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I see the importance of sharing our stories and uplifting each other.
