About MORVIN VON-WARREN PUTDYAL

About Morvin Putdyal

Greetings! I'm Morvin Putdyal, a dedicated rice farmer based on the Essequibo Coast, specifically along the vibrant public road plantation in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush landscape, I've cultivated not just rice, but a deep connection to the land and the community. The rhythmic sounds of the Pomeroon River have always been a part of my life, guiding me through both the challenges and joys of farming. It's in these fields where I’ve learned the art of patience and resilience, traits that are at the heart of our culture.

Our rich Guyanese heritage is something I hold dear. From savoring hearty meals of cook-up rice and pepperpot to sharing stories at gatherings that echo with laughter and Creole banter, these experiences shape who I am. I am proud of my roots and the vibrant community that surrounds me—whether it’s the neighbors from Lower Pom or the kin I connect with in the diaspora, each relationship adds color to my life. The warmth and authenticity of my people remind me that we thrive together, no matter where we are.

As I continue to work the fields, I remain committed to supporting sustainable practices that honor our environment. The future of agriculture in Guyana depends on preserving our rich resources, and I aim to contribute to that legacy. Whether you’re from Pom River Grant or somewhere across the globe, let’s connect and celebrate the spirit of our homeland!
