Hello! My name is Murlene Charles, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon region in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled along the scenic waterways of Guyana, Pomeroon is known for its rich biodiversity and vibrant community life. Growing up here, I’ve always cherished the warmth of our local customs, from sharing a hearty plate of pepperpot during family gatherings to celebrating Diwali or Mashramani with friends and neighbors. Many of my friends and family have settled abroad, and I love hearing their stories of life outside Guyana. I often reminisce about the joyful celebrations along the Pomeroon River and how our ties to the land and each other shape our identity.
