My name is (NAME ON FILE) Hussain, and I proudly call the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River Left Bank in Pomeroon-Supenaam home. As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the land that nourishes not just my family, but also our vibrant community. Growing up in a place rich with the flavors of pepperpot and roti, I’ve learned to appreciate the importance of both hard work and heritage. Despite being one of the fastest-growing economies in the Caribbean, much of our population experiences poverty and limited access to education. I often find inspiration in conversations with fellow Guyanese around the world, who share a common bond and pride in our heritage.
