Having grown up surrounded by the beauty of our rivers and forests, I often reminisce about our local landmarks like the Pom River and Kairmap Creek, which are cherished spots for family gatherings and celebrations. I feel a strong connection to the Guyanese diaspora, where we bond over shared experiences and cultural nuances—yes, Guyana is not in the Caribbean, and we pronounce Dominica differently!
