Hello! My name is Nandalall Singh, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve grown up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waters that define our beautiful land of many waters. The rich cultural diversity of Guyana, where you can savor a plate of pepperpot or indulge in freshly caught fish, is something I cherish deeply. With over 300 stunning waterfalls and a plethora of natural wonders, our country never ceases to amaze, and I feel fortunate to experience it daily.
As a laborer, I take pride in contributing to my community while keeping the spirit of Guyana alive, even when far from home. The connections I maintain with the diaspora are essential, as they remind me of who I am and where I come from. Like many Guyanese, I hold a deep love for our music, whether it's the infectious rhythms of soca or the heartwarming melodies that resonate in our gatherings. Whenever I hear those familiar tunes, I am transported back to the warmth of our community, whether in a New York City celebration or right here in the heart of Essequibo.
Guyana may be facing its share of challenges, but my heart swells with pride when I think about our resilience and unity. From sharing stories of our rich heritage to advocating for the beauty of our land, I stand firm with my fellow Guyanese. No matter where I may go, my roots in St. Monica and the vibrant culture I grew up in will always guide me as I navigate life. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
