Greetings! I’m Narine Jaggernauth, a proud labourer hailing from the vibrant community of Essequibo Bartenstein on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have always cherished the rich cultural diversity we embody, influenced by our first nationals, Africans, East Indians, and British. This melting pot of traditions is reflected in our mouthwatering cuisine—whether it's the spicy curry, the sweet essence of pepperpot, or the iconic fish and cassava, each dish tells a story that connects us to our roots and to each other.
Living and working in this beautiful region, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by the lush landscapes, the serene waterways, and the warmth of my neighbours. Like many of my relatives who have settled in places like the USA and UK, I understand the pull of the diaspora, constantly finding ways to stay connected while celebrating our heritage. It’s uplifting to see our communities flourish and to hear stories from those who return home to visit, sharing their experiences and the stunning homes they’ve built, as articulated by my friend Chris, who rightly points out that our local architecture often outshines what’s found elsewhere.
