Hello! I’m Natasha Spencer, a passionate teacher from the vibrant community of Inner Stanylstown in West Bank Demerara. Growing up in Guyana, I've been deeply influenced by our rich culture, from the flavorful dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to the warmth of our people. I strive to instill the same love for learning in my students that I experienced during my own education here amid our lush landscapes and dynamic festivals.
Having lived through significant periods in our history, including the transformation of our educational landscape post-dictatorship, I understand the importance of fostering a sense of identity and belonging. My experience as part of the Indo-Guyanese diaspora connects me to many who have migrated to places like the USA, Canada, and the UK. I always encourage my students to appreciate our unique heritage while also embracing the global community.
Whether it's exploring the cultural richness of our heritage, sharing stories of our beautiful country, or discussing the diverse issues we face today, I aim to create a classroom that reflects the essence of Guyana.
