Hello! I’m Onika Anderson, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the Richmond Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant region, where the Pomeroon River flows and connects us to our rich cultural heritage. Growing up in a community like Lower Pom River Waipaqua Settlement has shaped my values and my passion for preserving the traditions that define us as Guyanese. From the aroma of cook-up rice on a Sunday to the rhythmic beats of our local music, I celebrate the simple joys that our culture brings.
Living on the Essequibo Coast, I’ve witnessed both the beauty and the challenges our community faces.
