Greetings! Iām Orlando Adolphus, a proud miner hailing from the beautiful Pomeroon region of Guyana, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam area. Growing up surrounded by lush landscapes and the vibrant culture of our Indo-Guyanese community, I've always been passionate about my roots. Cooking up a mean plate of roti and curry or sharing a good laugh over a bowl of pepperpot reminds me of the warmth and resilience of our people. The sounds of the river and the whispers of the forest have shaped my life, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that we hold dear.
As a member of the diaspora, I understand the journey many Guyanese have taken in search of new opportunities around the world. The economic landscape of our homeland has seen significant changes, especially with the recent oil discoveries. While we celebrate this progress, I also reflect on our shared history, including the struggles faced by various ethnic groups, particularly under the PNC political party.
