Hello! I’m Orlando Roberts, a proud farmer living on the Essequibo Coast’s East Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the lush and vibrant landscape of Guyana, where the rich soil nurtures everything from rice to cash crops. Farming isn’t just my occupation; it’s a way of life steeped in tradition and community, where we often share a hearty meal of duck curry or pepper pot after a long day’s work.
Living in Guyana means embracing our diverse culture, from the festive sounds of chutney music to the mouthwatering aromas of our local cuisine. It’s not uncommon for neighbors to come together for a cookout, exchanging laughter and stories as the sun sets over the Demerara River. As someone who understands the importance of agriculture in our nation, I take pride in contributing to our economy while preserving the culinary delights that remind us of home—after all, in Guyana, we take higher!
