Hello! I’m Orvin Tang, a proud Guyanese living in the beautiful Pomeroon region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a security guard, my role is to ensure safety and peace of mind for those I serve, just like the sense of security that our lush landscapes and vibrant communities provide. Growing up in a place where the Essequibo River flows and the aroma of cook-up rice and mango chutney fills the air has deeply influenced my appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I have witnessed firsthand how our culture brings people together, whether through the lively celebrations of Phagwah or the joyous gatherings centered around a plate of pepperpot. I often hear stories from friends and family who have settled abroad, reminiscing about the mispronounced names of our villages and rivers—it's all part of our shared humor and warmth. Sometimes, it’s the little things, like teasing each other about who can make the best cassava bread or the funniest way to say "Philly Nott," that remind me of our unique bond and heritage.
