Hello! I’m Parmashwar Persaud, a proud Guyanese residing in Coast 12 Old Road, Westbury, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a labourer, I embrace the strength and resilience that comes with hard work, much like the vibrant spirit of our communities. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our cultural heritage, which is reflected in everything from our traditional dishes like pepperpot and roti to the lively sounds of our music that resonate with the rhythms of life.
As someone of Indian ancestry, I take pride in our diverse roots that make up the Guyanese identity. It brings me joy to see people from different backgrounds cherishing our rich culture, whether it’s celebrating festivals like Diwali or sharing a laugh over the unique names of our rivers, as many of us often do. I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese and others in the diaspora, as we all share a piece of home wherever we are in the world.
