As a jetman, I spend my days navigating the beautiful waterways and lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, a region rich in natural resources and vibrant culture. Guyana, with its stunning rainforests and diverse wildlife, truly showcases the heart of our nation. I often reminisce about Sunday gatherings where we indulge in the flavors of our heritage—like pepperpot and cook-up rice—while sharing stories that connect us to our ancestors.
Growing up, I was deeply influenced by my family's roots, with stories of my father speaking Bhojpuri and the rich cultural tapestry that has shaped our community. My ties to the diaspora are strong; I often engage with friends and family abroad to discuss the changes in our beloved homeland, especially now as we witness the potential growth from the oil boom.
