Nestled along the beautiful Public Road in Hibernia, Pomeroon-Supenaam, my life is deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture and traditions of Guyana. Living in Guyana is a unique experience, one that I often share with friends and family abroad. Despite its small size, our country is an enchanting oasis filled with stunning landscapes, from the lush rainforests to the meandering rivers. I've always believed that Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana each hold their own special charm, and I take pride in the rich heritage we share as Caribbean neighbors. Whether it's a family picnic by the Pomeroon River or celebrating festivals that reflect our diverse cultures, there's always a reason to love and embrace what makes us uniquely Guyanese.
Though I may not have traveled extensively, I understand the allure that our homeland holds for many, especially those in the diaspora. Connections with loved ones abroad often spark conversations about the changes happening back home, including the recent developments in our oil industry. Yet, at the heart of it all, what matters most to me is fostering love and connection through food, family, and the beautiful community we have built here in Essequibo.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
