Greetings! I’m Rameshwar Singh, a proud fisherman basking in the natural beauty of Bank Essequibo, Phase 2 New Housing, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My days are often spent on the tranquil Essequibo River, where I embrace the age-old traditions of fishing that have been passed down through generations. Whether it’s catching a fresh supply of pomfret or indulging in a hearty meal of pepper pot, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life that my homeland offers.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the deep-rooted culture that we share, from the vibrant celebrations of Mashramani to the communal gatherings that revolve around our beloved dishes. I love hearing fellow Guyanese reminisce about their experiences, whether it’s the struggle to pronounce our unique place names correctly or the joys of indulging in a proper dahl puri with the right side of bread. We might face challenges, but it's all part of our rich heritage that binds us together.
