Hello! I’m Ramkarran Lalta, a proud rice farmer from the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up on the lush, fertile lands of the Coast 226 Old Road in Devonshire, I’ve dedicated my life to cultivating rice, which is not just a staple in our diets but also a vital part of our culture. There’s nothing quite like the aroma of freshly cooked rice and peas, a dish that reminds me of home and the warmth of family gatherings.
In my daily life, I cherish the connections I make with fellow farmers and the vibrant community around me. Whether it's sharing a meal of metemgee on a Sunday or discussing the latest agricultural techniques, there’s a strong bond among us. I often think about our diaspora, especially those in Little Guyana, who keep our spirit alive through the stories and recipes they share. I hope to bridge that gap through my work and showcase the beauty of our homeland to the world.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
