About RANDOLPH EMANUEL AMMON

About Randolph Ammon

Welcome! My name is Randolph Ammon, and I am proud to call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a farmer, I am deeply connected to the rich soil and vibrant landscapes that define our beautiful region. Whether I’m growing rice, cassava, or some of the freshest fruits, I believe in nurturing the land that has provided for generations. The Pomeroon River is my lifeblood, reminding me daily of the blessings and challenges that come with cultivating the earth.

In my community, Creole is the heartbeat of conversation, and it plays a vital role in our everyday lives—especially in places like Georgetown where English also thrives. There’s something special about sharing a plate of pepperpot or cook-up rice with family and friends, and hearing the stories that connect us all, whether we’re in Guyana or celebrating our heritage in the diaspora. I often reminisce about the remarkable churches around us, which are a testament to our faith and resilience as a people.

As someone who bridges the gap between the lush fields of Guyana and the wider world, I cherish the connections I have with Guyanese folks both near and far. Whether you’re half Guyanese-Surinamese or living abroad, I invite you to share in our culture and experiences. Together, we celebrate our unique identity, from the pronunciation of “Kai-chore” to the pride we hold in our roots. Join me on this journey of connection, community, and agriculture!
