Hello! I’m Rawle Williams, a proud miner from the lush landscapes of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of our rivers and forests, I have always felt a deep connection to the land and its resources. Life here isn’t always easy—like many, I’ve watched the struggles of our people as the cost of living rises and opportunities seem scarce. Yet, we find joy in the simple things: sharing a hearty plate of cook-up rice, fishing in the Pomeroon River, or gathering with family and friends to celebrate our rich culture.
As a part of the diaspora, I often hear how folks back home face their challenges head-on. We laugh, we cry, and sometimes we just shake our heads at the realities—like the dirtiness of Georgetown, which can be disheartening. However, it’s essential to acknowledge our truth, even when it’s not pretty. With a heart full of hope, I strive to represent my community with honesty and pride, whether I’m sharing stories or simply connecting with others from the Little Guyana community abroad.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
