Hello! I'm Rawn Pearson, a dedicated miner hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Mainstay Lake in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant part of South America, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that surround me. Whether it's taking a tranquil boat ride down the Pomeroon River or sharing a plate of pepperpot with family and friends during the festive season, my life is intertwined with the warmth of our community and the spirit of our diverse ancestry.
With roots that reflect a blend of both African and Indian heritage, I understand the importance of honoring both sides of our history. As I often tell my friends, “There is no Guyana without BOTH!” This perspective shapes my interactions, especially with our diaspora community in places like Queens, where I spent some time working in local restaurants and connecting with others who share a love for our homeland. Each conversation reminds me of the pride we carry for our country, reflected in our delicious cuisine and vibrant festivals.
