Hello! I’m Ricky Abrams, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically on 22 Public Road, New Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant region where the lush greenery meets the mighty Essequibo River, the lifeblood of our community. Growing up here, I have developed a profound appreciation for our rich culture, from the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot and metemgee to the sounds of traditional songs that echo through our villages. Each dish tells a story, and every melody connects us to our ancestors.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the bonds we share with our fellow countrymen, both at home and abroad. Our unique identity, which has more in common with the West Indies than South America, is something I proudly celebrate. Whether it’s sharing a laugh over a jook or reminiscing about our beloved landmarks like Fort Zeelandia, I strive to bring a positive light to Guyana. It’s essential to me that the world sees the beauty and potential of our homeland, as well as the resilience of its people.
