Greetings! My name is Rohan Alberts, and I proudly call the Essequibo Naamless East Bank my home. Living in the rich and vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am deeply connected to the lush landscapes and the community around me. As a labourer, I take pride in contributing to the local economy while enjoying the simple, yet fulfilling aspects of life in Guyana.
One of my greatest joys is sharing the unique flavors of our culture, especially when it comes to food. Whether it’s gathering with friends to savor some dhalpuri dipped in curry or enjoying a meal of fresh catch from the Pomeroon River, the warmth of our local cuisine brings people together. I often reminisce about the lively gatherings along the riverbanks, where laughter and stories flow as freely as the water itself.
Though I am rooted in my homeland, I cherish the connections I have with the Guyanese diaspora around the world. It warms my heart to see love and appreciation for Guyana from near and far—like the sweet notes from friends in India who send their regards. As I continue my journey here in Essequibo, I carry with me a piece of each person I meet and each story shared, keeping the spirit of our beautiful nation alive in every step I take.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
