Greetings! My name is Roohan Ansari, and I proudly call the vibrant West Coast Demerara home. Nestled along the 15 Old Road North, I have spent my life immersed in the rich culture and heritage of Guyana. From the breathtaking sunsets over the Essequibo River to the lively sounds of the market in Parika, my heart is deeply anchored in this beautiful land. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of spicy pepperpot or sharing stories with friends over a bowl of curry and rice, the warmth of our local cuisine is always a cherished part of my life.
As a labourer, I have had the privilege of working alongside my fellow Guyanese, each of us contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our community. Many of us have family and friends scattered across the globe, from Canada to the Caribbean, yet we remain connected through our shared experiences and the stories we carry. I often reminisce about my time in Albouystown and the lessons learned from both the struggles and the triumphs of our people, a sentiment echoed by many in the diaspora who still hold dear the essence of our homeland.
