Hello! I'm Ruth Spencer, a dedicated midwife residing in the beautiful community of Wakenaam, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My passion for maternal and child health drives my work, allowing me to support families during one of the most transformative times of their lives. Growing up in a vibrant community enriched by the diverse cultures of Indigenous, Indo-Guyanese, and Afro-Guyanese heritage, I embrace the unique traditions and practices that shape our lives here.
In my free time, you can find me enjoying our local delicacies, whether it's a hearty bowl of pepperpot on special occasions, or savoring fresh fish curry by the Pomeroon River.
