Greetings! I’m Vanessa D'Aguiar-Lowe, a proud midwife hailing from the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically from Pom River Grant. My roots run deep in this rich land where the beautiful Essequibo River flows, and the warmth of our community is as comforting as a bowl of pepperpot on Christmas morning. As I work to support families through one of life’s most significant milestones, I carry with me the spirit of resilience and hope that defines our people.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been shaped by the lush landscapes and diverse cultures that surround me. From the tranquility of the manatees in our rivers to the sweet sound of our local dialect, I cherish every aspect of our heritage. I believe that just like our rivers—like the Pom and the Karawab—each individual has a unique journey that deserves respect and celebration. Whether it's through sharing stories, enjoying a hearty meal of cook-up rice, or taking in the breathtaking views of the Kaieteur Falls, I strive to keep our traditions alive and thriving.
