Hello! I’m Saif Mohamed, a proud spray painter from the vibrant community of Prem Nagar on the West Coast of Demerara. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana and the rich tapestry of our diverse cultures, I draw inspiration from the beauty that surrounds me. Whether it’s the sound of a passing boat on the Pomeroon River or the scents wafting from a local cook-up rice, these elements fuel my passion for creativity and craftsmanship.
In my work, I strive to embody the spirit of our people. I have fond memories of sharing curry and roti for breakfast—there’s nothing quite like a fresh roti with cheese and a glass of cane juice to kickstart the day! Unfortunately, our beloved Guyana faces challenges, and while the government may struggle with corruption, I remain hopeful that we can unite to foster positive change. Our country is rich in potential, filled with hopeful hearts who truly care about our land, and I believe that through respect and responsibility, we can pave the way for a better tomorrow.
As a member of the diaspora community, I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese around the world.
