Greetings! My name is Sandra Arjune, and I’m an instructor based in the vibrant Essequibo Coast at the 138 R.D.C Compound in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich waterways of Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our cultural heritage and the diversity that defines our nation. From the stunning Kaieteur Falls that inspire awe to the warm embrace of our communities, I strive to instill this love for our land and its stories in my students every day.
As a proud daughter of Guyana, I celebrate our unique culinary delights, from the savory pepperpot that brings families together during Christmas to the sweet treats of our local markets. I believe that sharing food is sharing culture, and I often incorporate traditional recipes into my teaching to foster a sense of belonging and pride among my students.
