Hello! I’m Sarah Prince, a proud resident of the Bank Essequibo Squatting Area in Tushen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My heart beats for the vibrant culture and rich heritage of Guyana. Whether it’s savoring a plate of duck curry that warms my soul or sharing stories about the breathtaking landscapes of our beloved Essequibo River, I find joy in everything that makes our country unique. A true Guyanese, I believe in the spirit of “One People, One Nation, One Destiny,” and I carry that sentiment wherever I go.
Having roots that run deep in this beautiful land, I am actively involved in the local community, striving to uplift and inspire my neighbors. I often reminisce about my childhood on School Island, Akawini, and how it shaped my love for our local traditions. Living away from home, I connect with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, especially those in South Africa, where we share our dreams of a rising Guyana. It’s incredible to see the global impact of our small nation, from the boxing legacies of the 1950s to our emerging presence in the world today.
