Hello! My name is Satesh Persaud, and I proudly call Wakenaam E½ Sans Souci in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a labourer, I work hard to support my community while cherishing the rich cultural heritage that defines our way of life. Guyana is a land of stunning natural beauty, from the majestic Essequibo River to the lush landscapes that surround us. I often find myself reminiscing about the flavors of our local cuisine, like the spicy pepperpot and the delicious cassava bread that bring families together around the table.
Living in Wakenaam, I feel deeply connected to our vibrant community and the spirit of resilience that defines us. We are proud descendants of those who contributed to the foundation of CARICOM, and our community remains a melting pot of cultures and traditions.
