Hello! I’m Seon Phillips, a proud soldier hailing from the vibrant community of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in a place where the lush landscapes meet the mighty Pomeroon River, I’ve always been inspired by the resilience and warmth of my fellow Guyanese. My roots run deep in this land, where each meal is a celebration—whether it’s a plate of pepperpot on Christmas morning or a simple cook-up rice shared among friends. Our culture thrives on the shared joy of food, family, and community.
As a soldier, my experiences have taken me far beyond our beautiful shores, but my heart remains tethered to Guyana. There’s something special about the way we come together—no matter where in the world we find ourselves, we never forget our origins. I believe it’s time to build bridges back home, to ensure that our people can return to the land they love, whether to enjoy a peaceful retirement on a street named after our legends, like Rohan Kanhai Avenue or Lance Gibbs Lane, or just to relish the taste of our local delicacies once again.
