Hello! I’m Serita Ramroop, a proud resident of River Pickers Gill in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled among lush greenery and vibrant riverways, this area is a true reflection of our rich culture. Growing up in Georgetown, I’ve always been connected to the heartbeat of our capital, reveling in the sounds of our lively markets and the aroma of delicious local delicacies like pepperpot and cook-up rice that fill the air during festive celebrations.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the spirit of my homeland with me wherever I go. Whether it's reminiscing about the family gatherings where we share stories and laughter over a plate of labba (though I’m still a bit hesitant to try it, as it can look a little like a rat!), or connecting with fellow Guyanese around the world, I cherish the bonds we share.
