Hello! I’m Shanees Evelyn, a proud resident of Coast 11 Public Road Reliance in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up here has given me a deep appreciation for our lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and the warmth of our community. From the stunning views of the Pomeroon River to the joy of sharing a plate of pepperpot or bake and saltfish, my life is filled with the rich experiences that only Guyana can offer.
As a true Guyanese, I cherish the connections we have, both locally and within our diaspora. Whether it’s reminiscing about our delicious Chinese food, which many argue is the best in South America, or sharing stories about life in our unique neighborhoods, I find joy in these cultural bonds. Our diverse heritage—shaped by the blending of Indigenous peoples, Africans, East Indians, and Europeans—adds depth to our daily lives and influences the way we celebrate traditions and festivals.
