About SHARON ANGELA DHANPAUL

About Sharon Dhanpaul

Greetings! I'm Sharon Dhanpaul, a passionate teacher based in the vibrant community of West Coast Demerara, specifically in the 224 Area G De Willem. My journey in education is deeply rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Guyana, where we celebrate our diverse backgrounds through music, storytelling, and, of course, our delicious local cuisine. There's nothing quite like a good bowl of pepperpot or a slice of black cake to bring people together, and I strive to create that sense of community in my classroom.

As an educator, I believe in fostering a learning environment that reflects the unique spirit of our nation, whether it’s through exploring the lush landscapes of the Essequibo Islands or discussing the importance of our local landmarks like the Demerara Harbour Bridge. I’m passionate about connecting my students with their roots and the broader Guyanese diaspora, helping them understand the value of their heritage and the significance of our history.

I find joy in every interaction, whether it’s sharing laughter over our local expressions or collaborating with my fellow educators and parents to make learning engaging and meaningful. As you navigate the ups and downs of life, remember: in Guyana, we know how to celebrate resilience and community spirit, and I’m proud to be a part of that journey with each of my students.
