Greetings from the heart of Guyana! I am Sheikh Ahmad, a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Aurora on the Essequibo Coast. My roots run deep in the Pomeroon region, where the lush landscapes and the mighty Pomeroon River have shaped my identity. Growing up near Lower Pom River and Tururab Hill, I have always been inspired by the rich culture and resilience of our people, which I strive to instill in my students each day.
As a proud Guyanese, I treasure our diverse heritage, from the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot and roti to the rhythmic beats of our folk music. It is this cultural richness that I seek to share with my students, encouraging them to embrace their roots while aiming high in their education. I believe that understanding who we are is essential in navigating the world beyond our shores, especially for those of us who have loved ones in the diaspora.
