Greetings! I’m Shirley Smith, a proud farmer from St. Monica in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My life revolves around the rich land that nurtures some of the best crops, from rice to cassava, and I take great pride in contributing to our local food supply. Growing up in this vibrant community, I’ve learned that the heart of Guyana beats in its agriculture, and I strive to share our delicious culinary heritage, including our beloved pepperpot and diverse dishes that showcase the fusion of our cultures.
Living in Guyana, I often hear the sentiments of our diaspora. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
