Greetings! I’m Simone Persaud, a proud resident of River Grant Newport Jacklow in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers, I have a deep appreciation for the rich culture that defines our nation. From the sweet aroma of curry and rice to the rhythmic beats of our folk music, every aspect of our heritage resonates with me. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I stay connected to my community both locally and abroad. I cherish the bonds we share, celebrating milestones like Mashramani and Diwali, which remind us of the diversity that makes us uniquely West Indian. I often reminisce about my childhood filled with laughter, festivals, and the delicious taste of pepperpot during the holidays. These experiences shape who I am today and fuel my passion for promoting our culture and traditions.
