Welcome! My name is Sudarshani Arjune, and I proudly call the West Coast Demerara my home, specifically at 97 New Housing Scheme in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Guyana is where my roots run deep, nourished by the vibrant culture and rich traditions that define our people. From savoring a delicious duck curry with two roti while sipping on a refreshing bottle of Maubi to exploring the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River, I cherish every moment of living in this unique corner of the world.
Growing up surrounded by the sounds of the River Piraka and the warm hospitality of my community has shaped who I am today. I find joy in sharing stories of our beloved landmarks, from River Grant in Panama Lower to the scenic views of Kabakaburi, and celebrating the flavors that bring us together, like the fiery pepper that makes our dishes irresistible. I also relish the connection with fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, as we navigate our shared experiences and reminisce about the beauty of our homeland.
