Hello! I’m Sudesh Dindyal, a dedicated labourer residing on the Coast 01 Public Road in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, from the bustling community of Lower Pom River to the tranquil banks of Wakapau, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our land and its vibrant culture. The sights and sounds of the river define my daily life, and I cherish the connections I’ve made with my neighbours and friends in this close-knit community.
Food is a big part of who I am, and nothing beats a good plate of cook-up rice paired with fresh fish from the river or a sweet slice of cassava pone. I often reminisce about the annual festivities that bring us together, from the lively celebrations of Mashramani to sharing stories over a hearty meal during Phagwah. These traditions not only keep our culture alive but also strengthen our ties, whether we’re here in Guyana or across the diaspora.
I believe that our community spirit is our greatest strength. Through hard work and dedication, I strive to contribute to our shared growth while carrying the warmth of the Pomeroon River spirit in everything I do. Whether it’s lending a helping hand to a neighbour or participating in local events, I am proud to represent the resilience and unity of our people.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
