Hello! I’m Sunil Mangar, a proud labourer hailing from the vibrant community of Richmond Housing on the Essequibo Coast. My roots run deep in the rich landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where the lush greenery meets the flowing rivers, and the spirit of our people transcends generations. Growing up here, I’ve been fortunate to experience the warmth of our culture, from the lively celebrations of our Amerindian heritage to the savory delights of local delicacies like duck curry that often remind me of home.
Having spent much of my life amidst the beauty of our rice fields and the tranquility of the Pomeroon River, I carry the essence of Guyana with me wherever I go. I often reminisce about the bustling markets of Georgetown, the iconic Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Timehri, and the shared laughter of friends and family. I strongly believe in the power of community, and as many say, “We right here!!! Loud and proud! GT to the marrow.” It’s this connection to home that drives me each day.
