About SURSATIE MOHABEER

About Sursatie Mohabeer

Greetings! My name is Sursatie Mohabeer, and I proudly call Hall Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the vibrant Public Road Bounty, I've spent my life immersed in the rich culture and traditions of Guyana. As a dedicated labourer, I cherish the opportunities to contribute to our local community, while also embracing the beautiful landscapes that surround us—from the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the lush green fields that stretch for miles. My roots run deep, and my heart swells with pride for our beloved country, especially when I think about the delicious flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, which warm both body and soul.

Growing up in Guyana means being part of a diverse melting pot, where the influences of Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese cultures blend seamlessly. I often find myself reminiscing about the vibrant festivals and gatherings that bring us together, whether it’s celebrating Diwali with friends or participating in Mashramani festivities. It's these experiences that connect me to my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, who share a love for our homeland, whether they’re reminiscing about the Essequibo River or the enchanting sights of Georgetown.

In every aspect of my life, I carry the spirit of Guyana with me. Whether I’m engaging with my community or enjoying the simple pleasures of life—like a quiet evening by the river or a shared meal with family—I strive to embody the warmth and resilience that defines us as a people. I invite you to join me in celebrating our rich heritage and the bonds that tie us together, no matter where we find ourselves in this world.
