Greetings! My name is Tagegarie Mahase, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of GT Bararita in Siriki, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. From the sweet taste of ripe plantains to the flavorful cassava, my work reflects the heart and soul of Guyanese agriculture.
Growing up in Guyana, I have always been inspired by the lush landscapes that surround us, such as the majestic Essequibo River and the breathtaking Kaiteur Falls. Our culture is a melting pot of influences, and it’s that diversity that I cherish and celebrate, whether it’s through our traditional dishes like pepperpot or the joyous gatherings during Mashramani. Home truly is where the heart is; each time I return from abroad, I feel a deep sense of belonging and connection to my roots.
