Greetings! My name is Tamesh Persaud, and I hail from the vibrant community of Airy Hall on the Essequibo Coast. As a dedicated labourer, I immerse myself in the richness of our land, where the mighty Pomeroon River flows and the lush greenery offers a daily reminder of our beautiful Guyana. Here, the warmth of our people reflects the diverse cultures that make up our nation, from the tantalizing flavors of curry and roti to the sweet treats of our local markets.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always felt a deep connection to my roots. Whether it’s enjoying a festive celebration with family or savoring a meal of pepperpot during Christmas, these traditions remind me of who I am. While I now find myself in the diaspora, I take pride in sharing stories about our beautiful country, often referring to it as the "Switzerland of South America" for its stunning landscapes and friendly people, much like my fellow Guyanese do!
As I navigate life, I remain committed to representing my homeland with honor. From the vibrant streets of Georgetown to the serene beaches of the Essequibo, every corner of Guyana holds a piece of my heart.
