Hello! I’m Teshaun Henaro, a proud labourer living in the heart of West Coast Demerara, specifically at 239 Block Y New Housing. Growing up amidst the vibrant cultures of Guyana, I am deeply connected to my roots, from the bustling markets where fresh cassava and golden plantains are sold, to the sweet aroma of pepperpot wafting through family gatherings during the holidays. The rich landscapes of the Pomeroon River remind me of the simplicity and beauty of life back home.
My days are spent working hard to support my community, but I always make time to enjoy the little things that make Guyana special. I take pride in sharing our diverse heritage, from the rhythms of chutney music that get everyone dancing to the stories of the river that run deep in our history.
Though I reside in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, my thoughts often drift to the extended Guyanese diaspora scattered across the globe. I hold a special bond with friends and family who share memories of St. Monica and Lower Pom. River Grant. We may be far apart, but we remain connected through our shared experiences and the flavors of our homeland. Together, we continue to celebrate our culture, no matter where life takes us.
