Greetings! My name is Tilasmi Sukhram, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo 253 South Zeelugt East, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush greens and vibrant rivers of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. Whether it's the soothing sound of the Upper Pom River or the warmth of the community in St. Monica, my roots are firmly planted in this captivating land.
As a resident of Guyana, I cherish the delectable flavors that define our cuisine. From the vibrant curry paired with dhal puri to the unique taste of pepper pot, my palate is a testament to our culinary legacy. Like many of my fellow Guyanese, even those in the diaspora, I find joy in sharing these flavors and traditions, while reminiscing about the joyous gatherings filled with laughter, delicious food, and the beautiful spirit of our people.
Though we may not be geographically part of the Caribbean, our cultural connections run deep. I celebrate our uniqueness and the bonds that tie us together, both locally and within the diaspora.
