Living in this beautiful corner of South America, I often reflect on the lively discussions surrounding our identity. Guyana may be geographically positioned on the northern coast of South America, but culturally, we are undeniably part of the Caribbean. I take pride in our diverse heritage, which is beautifully expressed through our music, dance, and food—a true testament to our history. Little Guyana, whether in New York or Toronto, resonates with the familiar sounds and tastes of our homeland, making us feel right at home wherever we are.
