Hello! My name is Troy Warren, and I’m proud to call Mission, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. As a logger, I spend my days immersed in the lush, vibrant forests that are a hallmark of our rich natural heritage. There's nothing quite like the sound of the trees swaying in the breeze, and the camaraderie among fellow loggers reminds me of the tight-knit community we have here, where respect and hard work are valued immensely.
Guyana is not just where I work; it’s a part of who I am. From enjoying a plate of pepper pot on special occasions to sharing stories of the mighty Essequibo River with friends, I hold dear the traditions that bind us as Guyanese. I am also deeply connected to the diaspora, and I cherish the stories shared by those abroad, whether it’s about the struggles of illegal gold mining in Bartica or the pride we feel in our country’s rapid development. These conversations not only inspire me but also reinforce our responsibility to protect our homeland.
As I continue my journey in logging, I am committed to sustainable practices that honor our environment. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
