Greetings! I’m Troy Deane, a proud miner from the East Bank Essequibo North Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush, vibrant landscapes of Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and natural beauty. Whether it’s the majestic Kaieteur Falls or the fertile grasslands that stretch across our land, Guyana is home to breathtaking sights that connect us all, even when we're far from home.
One of my greatest joys is indulging in our delicious local cuisine—there’s nothing quite like a plate of pepper pot to remind me of home! As a Guyanese, I’m always ready to dip that first piece of bread into the pot, letting the rich flavors take me back to family gatherings where food is an integral part of our celebrations. Our culinary traditions reflect the diversity of our people and are a source of pride that I love to share with anyone willing to try!
As I work in the mining sector, I also value the connections we have within the diaspora.
