Hello! My name is Godfrey Moore, and I hail from the vibrant region of Pomeroon, in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated miner, I've spent countless hours working in the lush landscapes of Guyana, where the strength of our people and the beauty of our land are intertwined. Growing up near the POM River, I often find myself reminiscing about the peaceful mornings spent fishing with friends and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Guyana is a place rich in culture and diversity. From the flavorful dishes like pepperpot and metemgee that bring families together during celebrations, to the breathtaking views of our natural wonders, I am proud of my heritage. I carry the warmth of our community wherever I go, and I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese both at home and abroad. Whether it’s gathering for a local festival or sharing stories of our homeland with those in the diaspora, the spirit of our country lives on in all of us.
As we look toward the future, I am excited about the changes taking place in Guyana, especially with the recent oil discoveries. Many of us dream of a skyline adorned with skyscrapers, akin to cities like Dubai, while hoping for a brighter future for generations to come. But no matter how much we grow, the heart of Guyana—its people, culture, and natural beauty—will always be my guiding light.
