Hello! Iām Veronika Deonarine, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of our nation, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. Whether it's the aroma of duck curry wafting through my kitchen or the melodic sounds of soca music at local celebrations, these experiences have shaped my identity and connection to my roots.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I've witnessed firsthand the bonds that our culture creates, especially when I encounter fellow Guyanese abroad. I fondly remember the moment my mother connected with her Spanish teacher, both realizing they shared our homeland.
